Frequently asked questions
Common questions about setting up and using your wallet.
What is Guarda Wallet?
Guarda is a non-custodial multi-currency wallet that lets you store, send, receive, exchange, and buy crypto across desktop, mobile, browser extension, and web versions. Because it's non-custodial, your private keys are generated and stored only on your own device — Guarda never has access to your funds.
Is Guarda Wallet safe to use?
Yes. Guarda is a non-custodial wallet, meaning your recovery phrase and private keys never leave your device or touch Guarda's servers. Your safety ultimately depends on keeping your recovery phrase private and your device free of malware — Guarda cannot recover funds if this information is lost or shared with someone else.
How do I create a new wallet?
Tap "Create new" on the welcome screen, then follow the setup steps to generate a new 12- or 24-word recovery phrase. Write this phrase down on paper and store it somewhere offline and secure. This phrase is the only way to restore your wallet if you lose access to your device, so never store it as a screenshot or in a note-taking app.
I already have a wallet — how do I import it?
What cryptocurrencies does Guarda Wallet support?
What if I lose my recovery phrase?
Because Guarda is non-custodial, there is no "forgot password" option — the recovery phrase is the only backup of your wallet. If it's lost and you also lose access to your device, funds cannot be recovered by Guarda support or anyone else. Store your phrase in more than one secure offline location to avoid this.
Are there fees for using Guarda Wallet?
Can I stake crypto in Guarda Wallet?
Yes, several supported coins offer in-app staking directly from your wallet balance, letting you earn rewards without moving funds to a third party. Supported staking assets and reward rates are listed within the staking section of the app.
Does Guarda Wallet work on mobile and desktop?
How do I contact Guarda support?
Official support is available through the help center linked inside the app and on the Guarda website. Support will never ask for your recovery phrase or private keys — treat any such request as a scam attempt.
Troubleshooting
Common issues
Fixes for the most frequent problems people run into with their wallet.
My balance isn't showing or looks incorrect
Try refreshing the wallet or restarting the app — balances sync from the blockchain and can occasionally lag. Confirm you're viewing the correct network and asset (e.g. a token on the right chain), since balances won't appear under the wrong network.
A transaction is stuck or pending for a long time
This is usually caused by network congestion or a low fee, not a problem with Guarda itself. You can check the transaction's status using its transaction hash on a public block explorer for that network. Some assets allow speeding up or canceling a pending transaction by replacing it with a higher fee.
I can't log in or unlock my wallet
If you forgot your local password/PIN, you can reinstall the app and restore access using your recovery phrase — this is why keeping that phrase safe matters. If the app is unresponsive, try updating to the latest version or reinstalling it, then importing your wallet again.
The app won't sync or connect
Check your internet connection and confirm the app is updated to the latest version, since older versions can lose compatibility with the network. If the issue persists across networks or devices, it may be a temporary node outage on Guarda's side rather than your device.
I sent funds to the wrong address or network
Blockchain transactions are irreversible, so Guarda cannot cancel or redirect a confirmed transaction. If funds were sent to the correct address but the wrong network, recovery may sometimes be possible depending on the chains involved — contact support with the transaction hash for guidance.
I suspect I've been targeted by a phishing scam
Never enter your recovery phrase on a site or in an app you didn't open yourself, and never share it with anyone claiming to be from Guarda support. If you believe your recovery phrase was exposed, move your funds to a newly generated wallet immediately, since anyone with the phrase has full access.
